Horniman Gardens offers sixteen acres of gardens and lawns. Rose gardens sit alongside sunken gardens, herbaceous borders and both native and ethno-botanical plants. In amongst the displays of wild flowers sit a number of unique sundial ornament, a bandstand dating to 1912 and a Grade II listed conservatory from 1894.
The history of this family-friendly park is further explored throughout the free museum which houses an eclectic mix of objects linked to the area, gardens and Horniman family.
The gardens are children-friendly with small animal enclosure, a nature trail and a sound garden with large musical instruments for playing.
